Ayako Tanemura has been teaching the Japanese language in the U.S. for approximately 20 years. She has taught all levels of Japanese language courses at institutions such as The Ohio State University, Hamilton College, Harvard University, and Boston University. She has also taught intensive summer courses and evening courses for non-traditional students. Her research interests include Japanese pedagogy and second-language acquisition, with a particular focus on developing learner autonomy.
